Vatican hit by Anonymous for second time in per week

The second attack in per week have been launched at the Vatican City by Anonymous.

In an announcement, translated from Italian, the attacker described town as being "less secure than what you desire to believe, because, while the hype was directed toward the darkening of vatican.va, we took the freedom to implement a small incursion into your systems".

Last week the hacktivists took down the Vatican's official website in protest at "the execution of heretics and the burning of books during the Inquisition and more recently the sexual abuse of children by priests".

According to the Register, a Jesuit father confirmed to The Catholic News thon the Vatican site and its news service L'Osservatore had been offline for several hours, with either one of them temporarily redirecting to other sites carrying a message from Anonymous.

The Anonymous statement said: “The reasons that led us to dedicate ourselves to you're not simply so frivolous [in] nature. Without going into the merits of the messages that your radio spreads (we've got already expressed our thoughts in this matter at obscuration of vatican.va), we yet again remind people like these messages are disseminated.

“Unfortunately it's now a longtime undeniable fact that you employ repeaters with power transmission largely outside the limits of the law, and is likewise sadly note the correlation between exposure to electromagnetic waves of high intensity and the onset of significant diseases similar to leukemia cancer, cancer and lots of other terrible diseases.

“Many citizens who've the misfortune to reside within the vicinity of your repeaters have filed lawsuits, following the decline in their health. Anonymous cannot tolerate these crimes continue, and we remind you that you're ‘guests' on Italian soil.”

It called for a review of the position of power and transmission equipment and warned that an attack could be extended again, "even [on] vatican.va just for the lulz".
