Halon Security has announced the launch of a next-generation firewall and security router as a virtual appliance.
Following the launch of firewalls within its Security Router (SR) series that support virtualised environments last month, the corporate has now unveiled next-generation virtualised routers for cloud security.
It said the Virtual Security Router (VSR) enhances network security and brings future-proof technologies.
It claimed it's the first vendor to supply solutions appropriate for SME and enterprise security in same product line, and said VSR supports virtualisation platforms reminiscent of the VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer and KVM, and provides enterprise functionality which includes zero-configuration clustering, full IPv6 support, layer 2 IPSEC tunneling, layer 7 load-balancing, SSL and web acceleration.
According to Peter Falck, president of Halon Security, the VSR includes web-based management that handles multiple nodes in a cluster, real-time presentation of logs and graphs, revision-based configuration and real-time web-console redirect.
âVSR is an entire security package for virtual infrastructure and might be easily integrated through the use of APIs,â said Falck.
âThe variety of partners and customers which have requested us to do a safety platform for the virtual infrastructure far exceeded our expectations. VSR offers additional interesting elements to virtual environments along with layer 7 load-balancing, enterprise routing and web acceleration.â
