Vasco offers one-time login for multiple web applications via Mydigipass

Users could be ready to login to multiple web applications using a two-factor authentication (2FA) token.

Announced today by Vasco, Mydigipass is a token that permits a user to login to multiple web applications via one single sign-in. The user logs in to the net portal either directly at the Mydigipass website or via a button on an approved website via the Mydigipass button, entering a user name, password and one time password (OTP) generated by the token.

This then opens a session for 20 minutes where the user could be authenticated across applications that use the Mydigipass authentication. Soft solutions also are offered for mobile devices, tablets and laptops.

The company said that it will secure all of a user's online accounts with one device, it offers strong user authentication to thousands of web applications and may offer convenience by simplifying the quantity of passwords remembered by an end-user.

Jan Valcke, president and COO of Vasco, said that the common user should remember eight logins an afternoon with four different devices into 28 accounts, using six different passwords. “This isn't secure for various websites, as you don't remember what the password was used for which website,” he said.

“So the user is calling for convenience with one password and that is what the shopper and business user was inquiring for. We wanted to be omnipresent and straightforward to integrate. Users don't need to login time and again and wish to do it once, and we've combined the challenge by having it one device.”

Also offered is a QR code scanner for users to log in with via a mobile device, with the pap offered free of charge download via the mobile app stores.
