SecurEnvoy has launched a brand new service where users are permitted to make a decision which device they need to receive their soft token upon.
Named SecurBYOT (bring your personal token), the corporate said it has the power to provision 100,000 new users in under an hour by allowing users to have their authentication token as an SMS on a mobile, an app on a smartphone or tablet or as a soft token on a laptop.
Users may swap between devices at will; although only use one device at a time. In the event that they elect to alter the device, the system automatically decommissions and wipes the former key.
Andy Kemshall, co-founder and technical director at SecurEnvoy, said: âAt the tip of the day the user knows best how they'd desire to work and with what devices, and letting them administrate it themselves means fewer calls to the helpdesk.
âThat said, if an organisation deems a specific kind of device unsuitable, they still retain the correct to dam it. We work at the principle of 1 licence per user so after they change or upgrade their device, the licence simply moves with them without incurring additional expense.â
With SecurBYOT, SecurEnvoy has also introduced âgroup deployment' in parallel to the unique provisioning wizard so organisations can define a single group within the company's directory - Active Directory, Novell E-Directory, Sun Directory Server or OpenLDAP â" in order that anyone within the group is automatically and seamlessly provisioned.
If a user is far from a set, the licence is straight away freed up and may be reallocated without the necessity to try to get a âtoken' returned.
