A global logistics operator and South Island technology company have joined forces to present a service that aims to make life easier for pro Trade Me sellers.
EasyTrade, which went survive the web auction website this month, combines the warehousing and shipping services of Brightstar, a US-based logistics firm, with e-commerce software developed by Christchurch's Tradevine.
The software company is the brainchild of Peter Montgomery, who founded vacuum mooring technology maker Mooring Systems, which in 2007 was merged with Dutch engineering group Cavotec to form NZX-listed Cavotec MSL Holdings.
Montgomery said both Tradevine and Brightstar were receiving inquiries from Trade Me sellers and realised they may interact to present the service.
Tradevine's software worked as EasyTrade's front-end interface, he said, allowing sellers to connect with the channels they need to sell through, manage inventory and process orders.
"The minute an order is taken on Trade Me it flows into Brightstar's system for fast packing and shipment," he said.
EasyTrade enabled sellers to run their business off a pc and focus on buying and marketing their products as opposed to shipping and managing their stock, Montgomery said.
