UK employees will be willing to sell their corporate passwords for only £5, under the cost of an Easter egg.
A survey by Ping Identity of two,000 UK consumers revealed that 48 per cent of them would accept not up to £5 for his or her log-ins, while 30 per cent would cease their corporate passwords for less than £1.
John Fontana, identity evangelist at Ping Identity, said: âThe proven fact that personal identity is being rated higher than corporate identity has worrying implications for the security of a business's intellectual property and brand reputation.
âHowever, this research shows we're more well-off and protective of our social networking passwords than the rest. Businesses desperate to attract and retain custom might want to allow consumers access to their sites though online identities we trust, in place of repeatedly getting us to go into our information over and over again, creating another unmemorable password that we place little value on.â
Just over a 3rd (34 per cent) would demand upwards of £50 for a social media log-in including their Facebook password, while 29 per cent said they wouldn't sell this knowledge at any price.
