Becrypt product certified by CESG assurance scheme

Becrypt has announced that its DISK Protect is the 1st product to head through CESG's new certification programme for data security products.

It said DISK Protect have been certified for demonstrating good commercial security practice, and is acceptable for lower threat environments along with PROTECT and a few RESTRICTED data.

In the industrial Product Assurance scheme, CESG and independent test labs evaluate commercial security products against published security standards to be used within the UK public sector. DISK Protect was certified to the muse Grade level.

A spokesman for CESG said: “We have worked hard with our industry partners to develop CPA, and are delighted to announce the primary certified product. CPA is a key portion of the Cyber Security Strategy and sets strong standards for suppliers to government of industrial off-the-shelf security products.

“We are grateful to Becrypt and our first test labs â€" Enex and Siventure â€" for the interest and support they have got given us in the course of the pilot phase of CPA.”
