This week there have been a number of vendor partnership announcements; here's a summary of the inside track.
SonicWall has added Kaspersky technology to its enforced client anti-virus and anti-spyware solutions. The enforced client solution resides on endpoint computers to deliver critical protection against viruses and malware.
Panda Security and Microsoft have signed a collaboration agreement to develop cloud-based anti-virus security services for Windows Azure, a cloud platform designed to host, scale and manage web applications.
With the hot beta version of Panda Cloud Office Protection 6.0 hosted in Windows Azure, Panda said that Cloud Office Protection 6.0 is a cloud-based security service for PCs, servers and company laptops managed remotely through its web-based console. Features include device control technologies that prevent the spread of malware during the improper use of external devices, while policies to dam dangerous malware activity also are included.
Good Technology and Box have launched an enterprise application which gives enterprise-grade mobile security around the secure content sharing platform. The Box for Good Technology application also allows employees to share content with people outside the organisation via a safe link. The appliance has also been approved by Veracode.
Mobile file-sharing solutions vendor Accellion has partnered with automated enterprise mobility management platform BoxTone to supply a safe mobility option to centrally manage content sharing, collaboration and storage across mobile devices and apps. The firms claimed that the joint solution enables organisations to cope mobile access to sensitive, confidential data.
Palo Alto Networks has announced that Zenprise has joined its technology partner programme in order that users of Palo Alto's next-generation firewalls and Zenprise MobileManager can extend visibility and control of applications running on smartphones and tablets.
The partnership will mean that users can automatically provision and configure Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect connectivity for iOS devices utilising MobileManager and confirm that each one mobile devices adhere to corporate security policy and best practices, which includes those for 'bring your personal device' (BYOD).
CertiVox and QuickLogic are to jointly develop user-friendly data solutions across platforms. The primary launch is a USB thumb drive that encrypts data with CertiVox's latest two-factor authentication technology (SkyPin), with data backed as much as CertiVox's PrivateSky secure cloud storage platform.
