ManTech has signed a definitive agreement to amass the business of HBGary.
A provider of technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programs for presidency departments, ManTech said the deal for its competitor is anticipated to be completed in March.
HBGary, which was noted for a massive attack on its network last year, is a provider of software products to detect, analyse and diagnose advanced persistent threats (APTs) and targeted malware.
L. William Varner, president and chief operating officer of ManTech's mission, cyber and technology solutions group, said: âThis acquisition enhances our capabilities within the growing cyber-security market. The HBGary leadership team are recognised thought leaders on this market.
âThe combination of ManTech and HBGary will create a broader cyber-security-solution capability for both our commercial and government customers.â
Greg Hoglund, CEO of HBGary, said: âManTech will give HBGary significant and positive growth, expanding our opportunities. HBGary's commercial customers will enjoy the addition of ManTech's world-class incident-response services, and ManTech's government business might be bolstered with a cutting-edge set of goods to guard mission-critical IT assets.â
