Torrance, Calif.-based LiveOffice sells storage and e-discovery services for corporate email, social media and instant messaging communications. The corporate said it has approximately 20,000 customers in 50 countries using its online data archiving services.
Symantec said the purchase will allow it to provide customers a decision between on-premise, cloud or hybrid delivery of Symantec products. LiveOffice enables data retention and offers employees Web-based access to email and other data. Symantec said the purchase would give its customers the choice to purchase archiving services to index, classify and retain information for e-discovery.Â
LiveOffice works with Symantec's newly acquired Clearwell E-Discovery Platform, that is being configured to be able to collect information directly from Symantec Enterprise Vault. Symantec said the combination of Enterprise Vault and Clearwell can avoid archive performance degradation and streamline processes to aid organizations make legal and regulatory deadlines.
Symantec said customers can export information from LiveOffice to the Clearwell eDiscovery Platform where it's collected inclusive of information from Enterprise Vault and other data sources for processing, analysis, early case assessment and review.
Symantec said it also plans to integrate LiveOffice with its cloud-based email security and management capabilities. The integrated product will provide email security for both on-premise and hosted email.
