Sophos has launched a brand new version of its endpoint security method to include patch assessments, web protection and filtering and encryption.
The launch of Sophos Endpoint 10 allows the corporate to integrate patch management, web filtering and whole-disk encryption into the suite.
According to the corporate, the Patch Assessment function identifies, prioritises and scans for critical threat-related security patches in Microsoft applications and for vendors inclusive of Adobe, Apple, Citrix, Microsoft and Skype. The internet Filtering facility protects users from malicious sites and not using a additional software or infrastructure required and enables better performance for users as all scanning is completed locally.
Finally, full-disk encryption in Sophos Endpoint ensures that data stored on desktops and laptops is kept secure, enabling IT staff to encrypt workstations and spot their status.
Shaun Paice, vice-president of product management at Sophos, said: âOur goal has always been to give customers with complete security and protection everywhere, without complexity.
âSophos Endpoint 10 is the results of an in depth collaboration with our customers and partners: improved performance, client-side web protection, patch identification and prioritisation and integrated disk encryption management. It's easier than ever to seek out at-risk computers, manage alerts, set policies and freshen up threats.â
Neil Graham, information security technician at Sanctuary Group, said: âThe new functionality that Sophos has introduced within the latest release of the endpoint security and control product has, individually, set it except other anti-virus vendors. Not just is that this an anti-virus product, however it ensures that endpoints are being shielded from every possible attack vector.â
