3 Game-Changing Strategies for Using ERP: How Businesses Can Innovate, Become More Efficient & Drive Real Growth in 2010

While reading concerning the self-destruction of the Zeus botnet recently, I stumbled on a link to this great comparison report from AV Comparatives that tested 17 popular anti-virus products in the stores today.

The test seems to be quite comprehensive, and creates a rating for software in accordance with their detection rates for malware, their speed in testing, and the speed of false positives that lower accuracy.  Apparently that is an ongoing test performed four times a year, in February, May, August and November.  The February 2009 test was the primary wherein the researchers calculated false positives and lowered the software scores in line with that data.

The findings of the February 2009 test (No. 21) shows here A/V products within the lead. They tested at a regular or fast speed, with a minimum of a 97% malware detection rate, and less than average false positives.

  • Kaspersky AV 8.0.506a
  • McAfee Virus Scan + 13.3.117
  • NOD32 Antivirus 3.0.684
  • Norton Anti-Virus 16.2.0.7

If you may have this type of products, great! although, understand that you would have to have an identical version, testing on the same level, and just as latest to succeed in an analogous results.

Anti virus software that’s obsolete, without the newest signatures, seriously is not going to be as effective… So, the word of the day: update, update, update.
